Dear Blog,

During my last school holiday, i went to Batu Pahat partly to teach cello, and secondly, of course it will be to relax and explore another foreign place. So together with suan and my cello and our lion share of luggage, we took the morning bus and head to BP.



Upon reached suan's house in BP, we headed for lunch. It was nothing but great. Nice and cheap food. We settled down at a soup restaurant. 2 soups, 2 rice, 1 side dish, 2 drinks added up to less than 10 dollars sing. Love it totally.

Then we headed home, napped and rushed down to teach cello!




Basically i'm in charge of coaching the cello section of the Chinese High String Ensemble. I could hear them practicing inside the room, but upon entering, there was this ice wall between me and them. It was kinda embarrassing. So i picked one guy (the sectional leader) to play first. He presented Menuet from Bach Suite No. 3 in C major. That broke the ice and instantly we were looking into bow technique, intonation, musical phrasing and etc. It was nice working with them because they really listen to what you are saying and trying to take notes down (....unlike my students in Singapore who i have to repeat 212983192383812313 times to get a note in tune).

Then it was papazi for dinner!


I ordered a huge chicken-burger and was given a pair of gloves. HaHa. On a side note, the guy who served us was cute.

I can't remember the order from then on, but we headed down to Carrefour one day for lunch and i swear upon my hamster'slife i love the lemon honey they serve at 'Rengit Coffee'.




For one dinner, we had steamboat at 'Ah Fei's' Steamboat place. Unlike in Singapore, you pay a fix price and eat-as-much-as-you-want, you have to pay for however much you eat there. It was still cheaper than in Singapore. We ordered two sets (one set has vegetables, meat, noodle... etc) and many other additional stuffs. Damage: RM50+ for two person. Worth it! we exited the place a fat person.



You see this orange-y noodle in the second picture. It's actually carrot noodle. They have the green one too.. which is spinach.

Move on the list, we drive to the foot of the mounatian to a seafood restaurnt. It's like this ulu-ulu place in the middle of nowhere and it took us a while to finally decided to go there since it's near to the cemetry.

But! No regrets!



Total Bill: Refillable Chinese Tea + Seafood fried ommelate (how to spell man) + Veggie + 2 huge crabs = RM50+

I hope you can hear me screaming 'CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!" in the background. The crabs are damn huge i reckon it cost around $30+ sing and above EACH (from my years of seafood-eating experience) in a normal coffee shop.

*cough* Auntie-ness.

I think it was the second day we wanted to eat this famous bak kueh teh and everything was sold out when we reached at around 12pm thereabout. So we went much earlier another day and managed to settle our lunch with delicious bak kueh teh!



Unlike Singapore's one which is quite pepperish, this is quite traditionally-herbalise (if there is such a word). You get your standard pork ribs, plus lots of tau pok, mushrooms of all kind, and pig's organs.

Our last meal before leaving Batu Pahat was tea at 'Old Town' cafe (i think Singapore has it now. But still, it originates from Malaysia. i might be wrong. Correct me!)

Everyone likes the shirt that says 'I like girls that like girls'. My counterpoint teacher kept insisting that it is pointless because i will never get what i want in the end, since the person you like likes another person. He goes on and on until vava, who almost got sick of rolling her eyes said, 'He likes guys who like guys'. His expression upon hearing: priceless.

HAHAHA.

And i fainted during NS check-up today at the blood testing station. HAHA. My 19283283721831th time fainting. -.-
